私のように、仕事上にしろ、プライベートにしろ、何か変えたい、変わりたいと思いながらも挫折を繰り返した人におすすめ。
前半は著者の自伝的内容、後半はそこから得た気づき、つまりシフトするための法則について書かれています。後半まで読み進めていったら、前半のストーリーの意味がよくわかりました。
各種ビジネス書を読むと、よさそうなメソッドをいろいろ紹介してはあるのですが、今までは取り入れようとすると重荷になるほど大幅な変化になったり、それゆえ失敗してますます自分がダメに感じられてしまったりしがちでした。その点この本は「無理なく」変える方法が紹介してあり、自分の過去も失敗も受け入れようという姿勢なので気楽に読めました。「恐怖に打ち勝つ」「あなたの人生を書き直す」「失敗を受け入れる」「外へ出て人と関わる」など、かつて何度も失敗したことのある人ならではの切り口に勇気づけられました。
アーネル氏についてまったく知りませんでしたが、マルイ、ミキモト、ペプシ、ダナキャラン、リーボック、サムスンなどなど、身近なブランドのブランディングに携わっているすごい人なんですね。気になって原書も読んでみましたが、訳書のほうがすっきりしていて読みやすく感じました。
